About us
Capsule Space is developing WaterCube and WaterCube+, modular water-based propulsion systems for CubeSats and SmallSats. Backed by ESA BIC, CDP Venture Capital, NATO DIANA and Takeoff Accelerator, we are preparing our first in-orbit demonstration in Q4 2026. Capsule Space is offering an exciting Master’s thesis / curricular / extracurricular internship opportunity for a highly motivated engineering student or fresh graduate to oversee the system engineering activities for our WaterCube space propulsion products family. This position provides the chance to develop skills in high-level propulsion analyses, requirements management and interfacing with customers and Space Agencies, and contribute directly to cutting-edge space propulsion technology.
This role does not necessarily require previous experience in the aerospace industry. Whether your background is in automotive, energy, mechanical engineering, or a related field, if you want to contribute to scalable, sustainable space transportation, we want to hear from you!
What you will do
- Requirements generation, traceability and flowdown at system and component level.
- Functional modeling and simulation of end-to-end propulsion systems for Cubesats and Smallsats.
- Perform system-level trade-offs to optimize overall architecture.
- Support Propulsion Lead Engineer in system and components requirements definition.
